Services & Fees

People come to therapy for a wide range of concerns. On the one end of the spectrum, there are individuals who want to come in once and talk through a specific concern (consultation). On the other end, there are physician referrals for individuals with complex mental health concerns that require specific evidence-based protocols to resolve the problem.

Most people are somewhere in the middle. Whatever your circumstance, I can help you with even the most long-standing and difficult problems. We'll talk together and work out a plan to get you back on track, to help you feel better, or to meet whatever goal you think is best.

If you're "somewhere in the middle," you can expect 4 to 8 sessions to get back on track. If you want ongoing support or want to come and go, that can work as well. The important thing is to get some help.

Counselling Fees in St. Catharines and Online

Therapy fees Ontario clients pay with me are simple:

  • Free 15-minute telephone consultation. Before you begin counselling, it may help to ask a few questions.

  • Hourly rates: $180 for in-person services and $150 for virtual counselling.

  • Direct billing: For certain insurance providers, direct billing may be a consideration, with copays or deductibles still due.

  • These are my counselling fees St. Catharines residents and clients across the province can expect, whether you meet in person or online.

Types of Service

1

Consult

A one-hour initial consultation that gives you the opportunity to ask questions and discuss problems.

You can expect clear feedback regarding your concern and advice about how to move forward.

2

Assessment

A 90-minute process where various outcome measures and assessment forms are used to accurately define the concerns and next steps.

3

Individual therapy

Following an assessment, a defined number of one-hour sessions is agreed upon and scheduled.

Insurance and Direct Billing

Direct billing therapy is available with many insurance companies in Ontario and most providers also offer immediate reimbursement for clients directly. Please confirm coverage with your insurer before your first session, since copays or deductibles may still be due on therapy fees Ontario plans don't fully cover.

Self-Directed Resources

For those who prefer a more self-directed therapy process, the two texts I use are Reinventing Your Life and Schema Therapy, both co-authored by Janet Klosko. An additional resource that serves as a workbook is Mind Over Mood.
